Location:

Online Event

Join us for a virtual field trip to an artist's studio! We will visit contemporary ceramic artists for a guided tour of their space, a demo of their process, and discussion about their work and how it has progressed throughout their career. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in the discussion.

We are thrilled to travel to Chicago to visit multi-media artist, author and educator Paul Andrew Wandless. Our discussion will be around materiality and the thought process Paul goes through to choose what types of materials serve his concepts best. Clay, printmaking, stone carving, mold making, leatherworking, metalsmithing, wood carving and painting are all mediums used in combination or individually for creation of his works. How do you organize a studio to work with a multiple materials, all with different characteristics and needs for space and safety? Well, we shall find out!

Cost: Free for Harvard Undergraduates. $50.00 for Harvard Graduate Students, Harvard Staff and Adult Community.
