From an exploration of musical memories to a work that draws from the intricate patterns of stuttered speech, excerpts of four new works for solo flute will be presented in a lecture-performance format featuring four flute students of Professor Claire Chase: Jessica Shand, Mai Nguyen, Jennifer Wang and Taiga Ultan. Chase and guest composer Liza Lim will moderate a discussion with the composers (from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Composing Women), performers, and the audience.
Lunch will be served at 12:30pm and the event will officially begin at 1:00pm.
