One of the most influential artist duos working in the age of the internet JODI was formed in 1994 by Joan Heemskerk and Dirk Paesmans. JODI has developed a new interactive multichannel installation, OXO, based on the ancient game tic-tac-toe and influenced by early computer games. The project has been specially developed for the Harvard Art Museums’ Lightbox Gallery, a collaborative space for digital projects on the museums’ uppermost level. Presented in collaboration with the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston (ICA) exhibition Art in the Age of the Internet, 1989 to Today (February 7–May 20, 2018), which explores the extensive effects of the Internet on artistic practice and contemporary culture. Learn more at aiai.icaboston.org.
Admission: $15 adults, $13 seniors (65+), $10 non-Harvard students (18+). Free for members; youth under 18; Cambridge residents (proof of residency required); and Harvard students, faculty, and staff (plus one guest). On Saturdays, from 10am–noon, Massachusetts residents receive free admission (proof of residency required).
