Learn what happens to your pot or sculpture once it makes its way into the kiln! This course covers basic concepts behind different firing methods and kiln designs. If you are interested in taking an in-depth look at reduction, oxidation, and atmospheric firing principles, key temperatures, and techniques, then this is the class for you! Do you want to learn more about alternative firing methods? And what is a thermocouple, damper, spyhole, or bag wall anyway? Curious to know more? – Come stoke the flames of kiln wonderment in this new online course! This class will only be offered Session 1 - don't miss out!
With your registration, you will receive access to a Harvard Google Classroom which will feature recordings of each class. In the case you miss a class or would like to review, these recordings will be available for 30 days after the end of the course.

Cost: Free for Harvard College Undergraduate Students, $300 for Harvard Graduate Students and Adult Community, $40 for TAP eligible Harvard Employee.
