Repeats every week every Monday until Mon Oct 19 2020

Location:

Online Event

Clay’s responsiveness to touch makes it the ideal medium to sculpt both what we can see with our eyes and new forms that reveal what we can’t.  Through lectures and demonstrations, we will discuss a variety of techniques on developing individual creative approaches that students will then use to make a small body of work. Demonstrations will cover several technical considerations in making complex sculptural works with extra attention paid to making work in the home and transporting to the student’s own studio or to the Harvard studio for firing. If time allows, surface techniques with slips and underglazes will be discussed as well as planning for glaze firing.

With your registration, you will receive access to a Harvard Google Classroom which will feature recordings of each class. In the case you miss a class or would like to review, these recordings will be available for 30 days after the end of the course.

Cost: Free for Harvard College Undergraduate Students, $300 for Harvard Graduate Students, Harvard Employees and Adult Community.
