    Ho Family Student Guide Tour

    The Ho Family Student Guide Program at the Harvard Art Museums trains students to develop original, research-based tours of the collections. These tours, designed and led by Harvard undergraduates from a range of academic disciplines, focus on select objects chosen by each student guide and provide visitors a unique, thematic view into collections.

    Tour: Reading the Fine Print

    Harvard Art Museums, 32 Quincy St., Cambridge

    Join student guide May Wang on this special hour-long tour to rediscover the artistic, material, and musical influences behind Taddeo di Bartolo’s Virgin and Child with Angels. Following an investigation of the painting’s iconography, May and her colleagues from the Harvard University Choir will bring the painting to life by performing the hymn featured within it.

    Free with museum admission. This tour is limited to 15 people and tickets are required. Ten minutes before the tour, tickets will become available at the admissions desk.

    Tour of “Crossing Lines, Constructing Home”

    Tour: The Architectural History of the Harvard Art Museums

    Facilities director Peter Atkinson will take visitors on a 60-minute architectural tour of the museums, highlighting the strategies and stories behind the evolution of the recently renovated building, with a special focus on its environmentally conscious, certified LEED Gold design.

    Western Ave. Arts Walk

    Location: 

    Harvard Ed Portal, 224 Western Ave., Allston

    Join a Western Ave. Arts Walk during ARTS FIRST to learn about Allston’s public art! Pieces include both permanent and temporary works of art on view at the Harvard Ed Portal and Harvard Business School, as well as works affiliated with Zone 3.

    Student-guided walking tours are ongoing (departs every hour) and take one hour. Advance registration is preferred. Comfortable shoes recommended.
