    Tef Poe Presents

    Join Tef Poe—hiphop artist, activist, and Hutchins Center Nasir Jones Hiphop Fellow—for an evening celebrating his time at Harvard. The night will feature performances by rising stars of hiphop including Cheech Forreign, The Knuckles, Giday, and Dzidzor with DJs Morshabazz and Kay Kay 47. Tef Poe will play a headlining set, and attendees are invited to an afterparty at Mass Apparel directly following the concert.

    Hacker Creations

    Location: 

    Harvard Ed Portal, 224 Western Ave., Allston

    In this workshop, students in 3rd-5th grade will make a 3D mosaic using recycled paper and computer parts! All the parts have been chosen with children in mind and are made from plastic, rubber and metal. Through observation, imagination, and experimentation, we will learn about patterns, contrasting shapes and colors, and layering in order to make an eye-popping creation!

    Exhibition Reception: Space for the Unknown

    Join us for a reception to celebrate the latest Crossings Gallery exhibition, Space for the Unknown. Local artist Crislin Waldman’s dreamy, layered paintings explore ideas as expansive as loss and regeneration and as specific as how to represent the light and color of ice through painting. Waldman is one of the founding members of the Musa Collective, housed at 119 Braintree St. in Allston.

    Treasures and Tales

    Explore fantastic paintings and stories from folk tales and fairy tales, then imagine new ideas and endings for them!

    In partnership with Courtney Lee Weida and Dr. Carlee Bradley, join the Ed Portal for Treasures and Tales! In this interactive art workshop, 4th-5th grade students will explore themes in folk tales and fairy tales, then write and illustrate accordion books with their own magical stories. They will also learn to create symbol stone paintings and decorate gems with interesting words.
