Concert for One will pair individual listeners with solo musicians for 60 seconds of focused live performance and concentrated listening, fostering intimate connections between performers and audience members. Performances will take place inside a temporary art installation on the Science Center Plaza featuring an interactive lobby and performance space that will have just enough room for two chairs, two people and an instrument.

The Harvard Summer Pops Band, now in its 47th year, is pleased to present the outdoor concert Musical Moments. The ensemble is conducted by the Director of the Harvard Band and Wind Ensemble, Mark Olson.
The Harvard Summer Pops Band is comprised of approximately 130 members including students attending Harvard Summer School, area college students and community members of various ages.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus School of Design, the Harvard Graduate School of Design will host a night of screenings and performances that explore new bodily and spatial interfaces, including a movement-based performance by students developed in collaboration with a course taught by Krzysztof Wodiczko and Ani Liu.
Ensemble Adilei performs traditional Georgian polyphonic songs and chants, although their main passion lies in the songs from the province of Guria in Western Georgia. Gurian music is sometimes compared to jazz, because of the emphasis on improvisation, and non-parallel movement in all the voice parts. Gurian song is also characterized by k'rimanch'uli, a yodeling technique often present in the upper voice.

In this performance and discussion, “The Suffragists” captures the power and passion of American women’s fight for the vote through song. Created by the acclaimed singer-songwriter Shaina Taub, the musical tells the story of the last decade of the struggle through the rivalry between Carrie Chapman Catt and Alice Paul. Taub’s musical gives voice to these women in ways that powerfully resonate in today’s political landscape. The performance will be followed by a multidisciplinary panel discussion.
