    The Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet returns to the Harvard Ed Portal February 26 as part of their 2019-2020 season. Join us for an evening of classical music that explores 300 years of the string quartet genre, and its history of inspiring great composers to create their most personal and dynamic works. Covering a wide spectrum of artistic thought and expression, from humor and mysticism to a holy song of thanksgiving, the program will highlight select works from this exciting and unique medium.     Family Hike: Play in the Snow

    Location: 

    Hunnewell Building, Arnold Arboretum, 125 Arborway, Boston

    Families need nature all year round! Meet inside the main gate at the Visitor Center. We will find a place to play together, making snow angels, snow humans, and more! Afterwards, families are invited to come inside the Lecture Hall to warm up with cookies and cocoa. Free and open to all, most suitable for children ages four through ten.

    Awaken your love of science with activities led by Harvard scientists, graduate students, and enthusiastic explorers. Meet scientists who investigate fossils, microbes, and carnivorous plants. Hear short talks on current research at Harvard. Explore fermenting microbes in action as they perform in a musical art installation! Bring your own collections to show to local shell and minerals clubs. This program has something for everyone and is appropriate for children and adults of all ages.

    Dreaming the Sphinx in Augmented Reality

    Harvard Semitic Museum, 6 Divinity Ave., Cambridge

    Between the paws of the great Sphinx is the Dream Stela, a monument which describes how a young prince fell asleep in the shadow of the Sphinx by the Giza Pyramids. Visitors to the Harvard Semitic Museum galleries will be able to experience the iconic Sphinx and its Dream Stela in 3D augmented reality.

    A gallery facilitator will use a tablet to allow the Sphinx to loom above and around a real life-size cast of the monumental stela. With a tap, the ancient hieroglyphs will be highlighted and translated into English. Another tap to adjust the timeline later, and a pyramid will...

    Harvard Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving vs. Duke/Texas A&M

    Location: 

    Blodgett Pool, 65 N. Harvard St., Allston

    Harvard Men’s Swimming and Diving will match up against Duke and Texas A&M, and Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving will face off against Duke, at Blodgett Pool. For the featured game, the first 100 Harvard students to show up will receive a Harvard Water bottle. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
