The Program on Georgian Studies presents Georgian artist and Master Calligrapher Shota Saganelidze for a night of Georgian art and culture.
Shota's distinctive art style uses the three Georgian alphabets to create portraits of influential figures from Georgian history. Before the lecture, please join us in the Calderwood Courtyard for a performance by the Boston Children’s Chorus. The group harnesses the power of music to connect the city of Boston’s diverse communities, cultivate empathy, and inspire social inquiry. The concert will include various pieces, some of which are inspired by the exhibition.
Concert for One will pair individual listeners with solo musicians for 60 seconds of focused live performance and concentrated listening, fostering intimate connections between performers and audience members. Performances will take place inside a temporary art installation on the Science Center Plaza featuring an interactive lobby and performance space that will have just enough room for two chairs, two people and an instrument.
