Innovation and Research Archive

Innovation is a common theme and practice within Harvard’s schools, departments, and initiatives, and Harvard scholars conduct in research in almost every field at more than 100 research centers on campus and around the world. The latest example of the University's committment to innovation and creative thinking is the Harvard i-lab. Located on Western Avenue in Allston, the i-lab fosters team-based and entrepreneurial activities and deepens interactions among Harvard students, faculty, entrepreneurs, and members of the Allston and Greater Boston community.

Many Harvard departments support innovation and research. The Harvard University Office of Technology Development helps to advance the development of groundbreaking discoveries by fostering strategic collaborations with industry through licensing, sponsored research and new venture agreements. Harvard’s Office of the Vice Provost for Research provides access to resources that enable research at the University, and Harvard’s Office of Federal Relations focuses on scientific research and other policies at the intersection of government and education.
