A Boston Globe editorial last week lauded national service organizations, and City Year specifically, for their support of urban schools. It says City Year corps members are ‘contributing in major ways to the success of Boston students’ and ‘filling the afterschool hours with quality instruction and programs.’
Harvard University has supported City Year Boston over the past five years. Today, City Year corps members in 21 local schools have access to Harvard’s SmartTALK program, a homework and academic time support program that includes a broad range of grade-appropriate, hands-on learning games and resources.
